What are the priority thematic areas for project financing?
The purpose of the National Grant Scheme is to support projects and organisations that the country’s National Development Priorities that are linked to the attainment of Vision 2033, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs and Agenda 2063. All project proposals submitted under the Call for Project Proposals must contribute to addressing critical issues through more targeted interventions.

Who is eligible for a National Grant?
Registered not-for-profit entities that have been in operation in the Seychelles for a minimum of one year. Eligible not-for-profit organisations must be financially accountable and possess certified audited financial statements for the preceding year ending 31st December, 2023.

How much can you apply for?
The minimum grant amount is SCR 100,000 and the maximum is SCR 750,000.

What is the project implementation timeframe?
The minimum duration of grant awards is not less than six (6) months and the maximum duration is twelve (12) months and projects must be implemented during the calendar year. All project activities must be completed by 31st December, 2025.

What is the process for project evaluation?
All submitted grant applications will be required to pass an administrative compliance check to ensure that that the application form has been fully completed, submitted within the deadline and all mandatory documents are in order. Thereafter, the National Grants Committee uses a set of criteria for the technical evaluation of the projects proposals that have passed the administrative compliance check. Applicants scoring 60% or more are called for an interview to further elaborate on their grant application.

What is the minimum percentage contribution from an applying organization?
The minimum contribution of 10% is required which can be either in cash or in kind. The in-kind contribution must be realistic and documented.

Is co-funding necessary?
Proposals may include co-financing, which is not mandatory, towards their projects/programs. Applicants need to provide details of the source of the co-finance and the amount of the co-finance Proposals may, however, include other national or international co-financing.

How and when will funds be disbursed?
Disbursements are not automatic but rather based on satisfactory project performance. Funds will be disbursed on a quarterly basis after submission of progress report and quarterly implementation plan.

Can an NGO submit printed copies of the application form and supporting documents?
All applications MUST be submitted via the online portal National Grant Portal.

Is there a limit to the number of times an NGO can apply?
An organisation can submit as many applications. However, successful applicants are eligible to only one grant per calendar year.

What are the required compulsory documents?
Completed application form, Copy of Registration Certificate, Copies of ID of key office bearers, 2023 Audited Financial statement, NGO Banking Details (top part of bank statement or copy of bank card).

Can different NGOs submit a joint application?
Synergies are encouraged to maximize resources especially if aiming to achieve same objectives.
